In Xilitla, Mexico, he created Las Pozas as a home for exotic animals and a place to grow his orchids. Later on he sold his entire Surrealist art collection to raise money for his garden.

He spent over $5 million to build the masterpiece we see today.

The garden is about a seven hour drive north of Mexico City and is open all year around.
