'Britain's loneliest dog' is now a movie star

Updated

Freya the pup had a rough start to life, but now she's spending her days with some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

The Staffordshire bull terrier went viral earlier this year when she was deemed Britain's loneliest dog after being rejected by more than 18,000 potential adopters in just six years.

The staff members at Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool were baffled as to why nobody wanted the friendly pooch, and worried her epilepsy diagnosis would scare away potential owners.

Freya's story caught the eye of famed "Transformers" director Michael Bay, who promised to give her a role in his new film and let her live with him if no one else would adopt her.

Luckily, Ray and Jackie Collins from the U.K. stepped in to adopt Freya and welcomed her into their home with open arms.

"It was obvious from the beginning that Ray and Jackie had something special with Freya," Collette Piert, a kennel manager at Freshfields Animal Rescue, told the BBC. "Finally Freya will be part of a family who can provide a stable home where she can enjoy her life."

Bay kept his word though, and recently welcomed Freya and her family to the set of "Transformers: The Last Knight." The canine actress even got to make her big-screen debut alongside Sir Anthony Hopkins.

You can catch Freya in the highly-anticipated film in theaters on June 23, 2017.

We think this friendly pooch has an incredible career and a happy life ahead of her.
