Kellogg's recalls Eggo Waffles for fear of listeria

Kellogg Company, manufacturer of Eggo Waffles, has issued a voluntary recall of some varieties on Monday.

Kellogg's explains that they are recalling around 10,000 cases of Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles that were distributed to 25 states due to possible contamination with listeria.

According to the announcement, listeria -- formally Listeria monocytogenes -- may cause serious or fatal infection in those with weak immune systems, such as children and the elderly.
