Bear leads police on a chase through town

Updated

Police in Alaska recently found themselves tracking a potential threat to the well-being of the public, notes KRDO.

A bear had taken to the streets of downtown Anchorage.

Authorities followed the woodlands animal as it wandered from storefront to storefront, through the occasional yard, and up a tree.

As luck would have it, the dashcam was rolling, and the entire chase was recorded.

The Anchorage Police Department posted the footage to its Facebook page, along with the note, "Sometimes it can be extremely difficult to catch an eluding suspect...especially when they are wild, unpredictable and have four feet."

There were no reported injuries, and the bear was safely removed from the populated area.
