So what we're saying is there haven't been enough females hosting the show.

While Jimmy Kimmel takes the stage to host the 68th Emmy Awards -- here are some hilarious female hosts we hope to see in the future:

Amy Schumer
She's rose to comedic fame through her Comedy Central TV show 'Inside Amy Schumer', her movie 'Trainwreck', her international stand-up comedy tour and her book 'The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo' which is a New York Times Best Seller.

Mindy Kaling
You may know her as Kelly Kapoor from 'The Office' or her character on 'The Mindy Project'. But this Dartmouth graduate started as an intern on 'Late Night with Conan O'Brien'. She's gone on to appear in countless movies like Disney Pixar's 'Inside Out' and 'This Is the End'. Not to mention she's a Twitter superstar with over 7.8 million followers and she promotes positive body image.

Leslie Jones
The 'Saturday Night Live' star has a stellar personality and comedic chops. She recently starred in the reboot of 'Ghostbusters' alongside some of Hollywood's most recognizable women and even landed a free trip to Rio to cheer on the American Olympians.

Melissa McCarthy
She captured your heart in the role of Sookie St. James on 'Gilmore Girls'. But she made us laugh until we cried in her role as Megan Price in the movie 'Bridesmaids', which landed her an Oscar nomination. McCarthy originally wanted to pursue a career in fashion and created her own line Melissa McCarthy Seven7 embracing plus size women.

Samantha Bee
As the only female hosting a late-night talk show -- 'Full Frontal with Samantha Bee' -- hosting the Emmys would be a breeze. Bee has also worked as a loyal correspondent for the 'Daily Show' with Jon Stewart, adding a comical twist to political topics.
