Zayn Malik set to publish tell-all memoir -- complete with illustrations

Zayn Malik is going from boy band hunk to published author by penning his personal memoir.

The former One Direction singer is set to release his autobiography — very originally and aptly titled "Zayn" — on Nov. 1. It will be published by Delacorte on Nov. 1, Penguin Random House announced Tuesday.

The book will include personal photographs, artwork and drawings from Malik, who quit the group in 2015 and released his solo debut, "Mind of Mine," earlier this year, the Associated Press reported.

He canceled scheduled concerts in the United Kingdom and Dubai in recent months because of "extreme anxiety around major live solo performances."

Having grown up on Bradford, England, Malik guides fans through his childhood experiences, his rise to stardom — and the reasons for his abrupt departure from the hit group. "I'm going to show you as much as I can so that you can judge me on my own terms, not on what the press or anyone else says," he write in the opening pages, according to Rolling Stone. Malik, now 23, was discovered as a contestant on the U.K. "X-Factor," being paired with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan.
