Dolphins recorded having a conversation, like humans

Two dolphins were recorded having a conversation for the first time by scientists in Russia.

Researchers learned decades ago the mammals communicate various emotions through distinctive clicks and whistles.

But new research shows they can carry on conversations similar to the way humans do.

The study analyzed sounds made by two Black Sea bottlenose dolphins from Crimea.

Researchers recorded their sounds and found they each took turns speaking.

In 2007, scientists discovered dolphins have their own language made up of almost 200 different sounds.

A study also found that dolphins chat more when they are trying to solve a task together.

The discovery supports that dolphins possess complex brains like humans.
