New clues emerge in cold case linked to Manson family killings

Police in Los Angeles have released sketches of two men wanted in connection with the death of a 19-year-old Canadian woman. The woman was found stabbed to death in 1969, possibly in connection to the Manson family killing.

The woman, Reet Jurvetson, was found stabbed 150 times on Mulholland Drive, close to where Sharon Tate and four others were stabbed to death by the Manson family a few months earlier.

For decades, the victim was known as Jane Doe No. 59 until detectives identified her last year using DNA from her sister, who recognized her body after she saw a photo online.

Reet supposedly traveled to Los Angeles to meet a friend. She kept in touch with her family, but as time went by they stopped hearing from her.

A missing report was never filed, the family thought she was in search of more autonomy and thought she had started a new life for herself.

A former Manson prosecutor said he believed the woman was killed because she had witnessed another suspected Manson family slaying.
