Mysterious 'ghost' lights cause fearless thrill seekers to flock to Michigan forest

Over the years, thrill seekers across the country have flocked to a Michigan forest to sight their eyes on the mysterious Paulding Light. The big bright lights in the forrest get bigger and smaller until they fade away into the night, causing many to suspect paranormal activity.

In the Upper Peninsula, the Paulding Light has become a legend. Also known as the "Dog Meadow Lights," there are many stories surrounding the mysterious light. According to pauldinglight.com, some say the lights are a result of a railroad switchman being crushed to death between two cars while holding his lantern. Other theories say an engineer was murdered along the old railroad grade. Others tell a tale about a man carrying a lantern looking for his lost son out in the woods who was hit by a train, but his ghost continues to search for his son.

Despite the many theories, engineering students conducted tests to discover the true cause of the lights. They concluded that the mysterious lights are just headlights from cars in the distance, but regardless of what may actually cause the lights, people will continue to seek them out.
