Travelers realize they're the only ones on their flight

Updated

One of the worst parts of plane travel is your fellow passengers. You're forced to be in close quarters with strangers -- they can be fussy children, loud adults, or just plain rude.

When one British couple, then, discovered that they were alone on their flight, it probably an incredible feeling.

Backpackers Kyle McNicol and Carrie Fisher realized they were the lone passengers when they checked into their flight from Thailand to Malaysia.

Fisher wrote about the experience on her blog. "On arrival at Krabi [Thailand] airport we made our way to the check in desk and handed over our passports, we were shocked to hear, 'Oh very special flight for you today.'"

Even then, Fisher and McNicol did not realize that meant they would be flying alone. "But [we] didn't think anything of it until we reached customs and the two guys checking our passports started laughing and saying, 'Oh, just you two.'"

Fisher said it was one of the best flights she's ever been on. Both her and McNicol posted about it on their social media accounts:

The Telegraph reported that these flights happen more often than you would expect. Earlier this year, Chinese traveler Ms. Zhang was the only passenger on a domestic flight -- and said she was given the "rockstar" treatment.

While flights like these are hurtful to both company profits and the environment, it'd be nice to experience such a flight once in your life.
