Thanks to the genius J.K. Rowling, on this day 25 years ago, the boy who lived arrived at Platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross Station for the very first time.

Up to this point, all witches and wizards, muggle born or pure bloods, have been anxiously awaiting to go to school back at the famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Trunks in hand, all students make their way onto the Platform on the first day of September to arrive at Hogsmeade to start their wizarding journey.

Because the world is a truly magical place, King Cross Station notified all passengers of that the Hogwarts Express would be arriving at 11:30 AM to pick up witches and wizards only.

Of course, every Potter fan took to social media to express their excitement!

Even Oliver Phelps, the actor who played George Weasley got in on the fun.

Perhaps, one of the funniest tweets comes from the creator herself, J.K. Rowling. The author tweeted, and then deleted, congratulations to Albus Severus Potter on his first day at Hogwarts. However, fans were quick to point out that that day wouldn't come for another year. The Queen of course issued a quick apology.

Don't fret though if you didn't receive your Hogwarts letter this year, or you unsuccessfully made it through Platform 9 3/4, you can always attend the Harry Potter festival in Philadelphia this October!
