Netflix is not waffling on Stranger Things' future: The streaming giant has renewed the '80s thriller for a second season.

Season 2 will consist of nine episodes, versus the freshman run of eight.

Last month at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, series creators Matt and Ross Duffer (aka the Duffer Brothers) told reporters that a potential second season would delve into "bigger mythology" behind Will's disappearance. "There are definitely a lot of cliffhanger-y threads at the end [of the Season 1 finale]," explained Matt. "It's open-ended in a way that if people wanted it, and Netflix wanted it, we could explore it and continue the storyline."
