FYF Fest proved to be a major hit this year with incredibly talented acts such as headliner Kendrick Lamar and fan-favorite Grimes, and AOL Entertainment was there to catch all the excitement.

Without a doubt, the best performance from the two-day festival was superstar Kendrick Lamar, who reminded us that he's still one of the very best in the hip-hop game, spitting lyrics from his infamous "Swimming Pools" anthem to the fan-favorite "m.A.A.d city." His set was complimented with visuals featuring historic and interesting moments in time ranging from George W. Bush in office to President Obama and Ellen DeGeneres dancing on her talk show.

Another major highlight from the music festival was Southern California native, Vince Staples, whose EP, "Prima Donna," was just released earlier this month. The young rapper played new and old tracks, pleasing recent and seasoned fans alike.

"I'm about to run out there and see Vince Staples!" DJ Kitty Cat revealed at the Malibu Rum Beach House. The DJ is currently working on an EP of her own but has already been labeled as a powerhouse force to be reckoned with. Her electronic beats fused with R&B sounds have taken her from Brooklyn regular to the world stage playing gigs in Paris and Shanghai.

But her dream venue?

"I'd love to play Coachella one day," the singer revealed. "I've never played at the actual festival. That could be really cool ... hopefully in my near future!"

Clad in Jeremy Scott, Grimes killed her set and brought a lot of attention to her background performer, Hana, who captured our hearts with her killer vocals and intensely choreographed songs.

LCD Soundsystem, Tame Impala and Father John Misty were also among our favorites, blessing us with dreamy and sway-worthy music and reminding us just how fun music festivals are supposed to be.
