Gene Wilder, 'Willie Wonka' star and comedic icon, dies at 83

Famed actor Gene Wilder passed away this week at the age of 83, it was revealed on Monday.

The star died at his home in Stamford, Conn. due to complications from a secret, three-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Wilder chose to keep his battle private so as to keep a "smile" on children's faces who were watching the magical wonder of his most instantly recognizable film, "Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory."
