President Obama is set to tour flood-ravaged areas of Louisiana Tuesday afternoon.

The president arrived in Baton Rouge shortly before 1 p.m. EDT and is scheduled to spend time with local officials before addressing the media.

The American Red Cross called the widespread devastation the worst natural disaster in the U.S. since Superstorm Sandy hit the east coast in 2012.

Over 60,000 homes were impacted by the storms and at least 13 people have died.

The president has been criticized over the past week for a lack of urgency in his response to the devastating flooding.

Former head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Michael Brown, as well as Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump have spoken out against Obama's response, criticizing him for not calling off his vacation to visit Louisiana before now.
