Viral Shot Of Lightning Bolt Looks Like T. Rex About To Chomp On Blue Mesa Formation

The combination of a lightning bolt and a T. rex certainly sounds intimidating and that's what was recently captured on camera by Hallie Larsen, a National Park Service staffer.

Ok, so it didn't involve a real T. rex but the shot is still pretty spectacular.

A Facebook post by the U.S. Department of the Interior sums it up best, "This bolt looks like a Tyrannosaurus rex getting ready to chomp a formation at Blue Mesa in Arizona's Petrified Forest National Park. Monsoons usher in summer lightning, so explore safely and be sure to check the weather."

The image swiftly went viral and numerous comments followed with one user noting, "I saw a cougar stalking its prey. Awesome either way!" and another said, "I was thinking more of a snake, nature is amazing no doubt!"
