This isn't the first time Ryan Lochte's words and actions were puzzling

Ryan Lochte is under fire for reportedly fabricating a mugging incident in Rio. But this actually isn't the first time he's done something we just don't understand. Let's look back at 9 times the swimming star has said or done some questionable things.

He made up a word and trademarked it:

"Jeah," he did.

The word "jeah" is supposedly an expressive form of the word "yeah." Lochte said, "It means, like, almost, like, everything. Like happy. Like, if you have a good swim, you say, 'Jeah,' Like, it's good. So, I guess it means good."

He dyed his hair an unknown color for the Olympics:

His hairdresser must have failed to mention this color doesn't work well in chlorine. His once silver locks turned green by the time he bolted out of Rio.

He doesn't know how many Olympic medals he won in London:

"I got like two gold, and two bronze?" Lochte guesses when trying to remember how many medals he won during the 2012 London Olympics. In reality, Lochte snagged two gold, two silver and one bronze.

And then there's this interview, where he struggles to form a single sentence:

Enfidence vs. emphasis:

When describing how to properly pronounce his trademarked word "jeah," Lochte advised people to put the "enfidence" on the 'J' and 'E.' We're not certain whether or not Lochte meant to say "emphasis," or was simply adding another word to his personal dictionary.

He had his own reality show, but took every girl to the same restaurant.

On taking all of his dates to the same restaurant: "It might be the same place, might be the same table but it's a different girl."

Hopefully someone has since informed him of better dating practices.

Then, there are these poetic tweets:

He was recently featured on Snapchat's Rio page saying this:

When asked if Lochte worries about anything when he jumps into the pool, he said: "Uh, pooping in my speedo. I thought about it, cause I mean you know how everybody pees in the pool?"

Sure.

And finally, this, which probably takes the cake from all of Ryan Lochte's puzzling moments:

Lochte claims he and three of his U.S. swimming teammates were robbed at gunpoint in Rio, but the story isn't lining up. Brazilian police have basically said the mugging never took place, and supposedly, his teammates are saying Lochte lied about the entire incident.
