Lifelike Doll Blamed Over Baby in Hot Car Mix-Up

A New Hampshire police officer was surprised to learn the baby he was rescuing from a hot car was actually just a lifelike doll.

Officer Jason Short answered a 911 call in Keene which reported a baby was trapped in a hot car.

When Short arrived, he smashed the car windows with his baton to get the "baby" out of the back seat.

As he attempted CPR, he realized something was off about the whole situation. He then realized there was no baby in trouble, it was just an extremely lifelike doll.

The fake baby is actually a "reborn doll," and is designed to look as real as possible. The doll is valued at more than $2,000.

Despite the embarrassing incident, Short says he has no regrets and that is top priority is always saving lives.
