Many Olympians eagerly seek out their score as soon as their event is over, but 20-year-old Fu Yuanhui of China managed to completely miss it -- twice.

The swimmer broke a personal record during the women's 100-meter backstroke semifinal on Monday; she finished at 58.95 seconds when she thought it was at least 59. When the reporter told her she exclaimed, "I was so fast! I'm really pleased!"

"I've already ... expended my primordial powers," she said, sparking a loving meme of her called "Primordial Girl" across China.

The swimmer went on to win bronze in the 100-meter backstroke final on Tuesday, but once again had no idea until her post-race interview. The newscaster told her she trailed only .01 second behind the silver, but even then Yuanhui did not make the connection.

She begins speaking about the race, saying, "What I want to share is that even though I did not win a medal ..." The newscaster then stopped her to tell her she did.

See Yuanhui realize she won a medal:

"Well, then I think that's not bad at all," she said after learning she finished third.

Yuanhui and her adorable reactions -- and China's embrace of their bronze-medalist -- shows the love of the sport and hard work.
