Surprising Use #1: Use As Shaving Cream

Whether you are in a survivalist situation or you simply ran out of shaving cream, peanut butter can be an easy substitute.

LifeHack.org writes: “Smear a thin layer of smooth peanut butter and shave as you normally would.

“The oils in the peanut butter keep the razor from nicking your face or legs, and also acts as a moisturizer.”

Surprising Use #2: Moisturize Your Hair

You might think it’s crazy, but you can add a little shine and softness to your hair with peanut butter.

According to Westchester Magazine, “Massaging peanut butter into your hair could do wonders.

“The peanut butter’s oils will give it a shine that many hair products can’t.”

Surprising Use #3: Remove Chewed Gum

Whether you’ve gotten gum stuck in your hair, on your carpet, or on your furniture, peanut butter can help get it out in a snap.

Listverse.com writes: “Peanut butter is a perfect ‘gum remover.’

“Just rub some peanut butter into the gum and you can wipe the whole mess off with a cloth.”

Surprising Use #4: Fight Bad Odors

Why would someone just cook up some peanut butter? Well, this just happens to be an easy and effective way of fighting odors.

According to Westchester Magazine: “Frying fish or onions can leave your house with a stale and potent smell, but of course peanut butter can change that.

“After cooking, put a tablespoon of peanut butter in a hot frying pan and let it fry for a few minutes.”

Surprising Use #5: Substitute For Butter

For those who love the flavor of peanut butter, why not use it instead of regular butter? Most recipes will turn out just as good or better!

Listverse.com writes: “Next time you are making fudge brownies, try using peanut butter instead…

“You can also stir peanut butter into a sauce instead of butter to give it a nutty finish.”

Surprising Use #6: Seal An Ice Cream Cone

As a kid (and as an adult), I’ve always hated when ice cream leaks out the bottom of my cone. But I never thought to use peanut butter as the solution.

LifeHack.org writes: “Before loading up your cone with ice cream, put a scoop of peanut butter in the bottom.

“It will keep melting ice cream from dripping out of the bottom and will be a yummy treat when you get to the bottom of the cone.”

Surprising Use #7: Remove Stuck Labels

Getting a sticky label off of a new purchase can be one of the most annoying and frustrating processes.

Rather than turning to chemicals, Care2.com writes: “You can dissolve the glue from labeled glass bottles with peanut butter instead.

“Just spread on the peanut butter, let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes, and with just a little scrubbing it should rub right off with a cloth soaked in warm water.”
