Donut pancake recipe
This recipe came about completely by accident. When making traditional pancakes we typically avoid using any baking spray, oil, or butter in the skillet. The reason being, exactly why we used it here today. Essentially, if enough oil is used, it will fry the pancake which leaves it tasting similar to a donut but with pancake batter. As a result you get just that, a delicious hybrid of a pancake & donut. Top it with some icing & sprinkles & enjoy the breakfast of your dreams.
- 1½ cups all purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1½ cups milk
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- In large mixing bowl combine all ingredients. Whisk together until batter is smooth. Pour batter into Ziploc bag & seal shut. Cut a very small corner of the bag off.
- Spray medium skillet with baking spray. Place skillet over medium heat. Carefully pipe batter into a donut shape on the skillet. Let cook until top is bubbling. Lift the pancake with a spatula, respray surface, flip, & cook until both sides are golden brown. Repeat until all batter has been used. Serve & enjoy!
