New studies prove flossing isn't doing anything for you

Have you ever been nagged at the dentist for not flossing? Well, it turns out the benefits of flossing may be a lie.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has removed their recommendation on flossing, which has been around for decades.

The Associated Press reviewed 25 studies that compared tooth brushing with and without flossing.

Nearly all the results showed "inconsistent/weak evidence" for flossing.

One of the reviews said "the majority of available studies fail to demonstrate that flossing is generally effective in plaque removal."

One study did credit floss with a slight reduction in gum inflammation, reviewers ranked this evidence as "very unreliable."

But to be honest, who flosses anyway?
