Creepy clown spotted lurking around town at night
Clowns hold a very strange place in American culture, existing both as popular entertainers at children's parties and embodiments of evil in tales of terror.
One of the latter sorts has been spotted lurking the streets of Green Bay, Wisconsin after night falls, reports UPI.
Based on the Facebook page called Gags – The Green Bay Clown" set up for tracking purposes, the sightings began on August 1.
One person described the clown as aggressive and possibly blood thirsty, saying it "ran after my friend, it looked like he wanted to kill him."
Another posits the mysterious entity is supernatural in nature.
There are, of course those looking for a rational explanation.
A popular suggestion involves the clown being nothing more than a character in a film, notes Mashable.
However, a commenter did put up a compelling challenge to that theory, asking, "So where's his camera crew then?"
