True love is absolutely real, and this 18-year-old couple proves it.

Abbi Ruicker and Swift Myers were high school sweethearts and they had been together for two years when the young man proposed to his girlfriend.

Swift has also been battling a cancerous tumor called Ewing's sarcoma for seven years.

Abbi revealed in an interview with People that one day in a hospital room, surrounded by Swift's family, he said "Will you marry me? Will you be my wife?"

She said she thought he was playing around.

But he wasn't.

He called her dad to ask for permission to marry her, and according to Abbi's interview in People, her father said it would be "an honor" to have him as a son-in-law.

Just two days after the proposal, the couple got married. Abbi said he is, without a doubt, the love of her life.

The wedding took place inside the intensive care unit of the hospital, and nearly100 people attended.

Swift's nurse in the ICU, Mandy Beam, live-streamed the special event on Facebook.

You can watch it here:

Beam told People, "The wedding was intimate but simple and representative of who they are as a couple – kind and beautiful."

She said she hopes they treasure the wedding forever.
