Ex-Baylor DE Shawn Oakman indicted on sexual assault charge
Former Baylor defensive end Shawn Oakman has been indicted on a sexual assault charge stemming from an incident on April 3, during which he's alleged to have sexually assaulted a 24-year-old female Baylor student.
A Waco grand jury handed down the indictment today, according to multiple reports.

The 24-year-old Oakman also was investigated for an alleged assault on an ex-girlfriend in 2013, though he was never arrested and no charges were filed.
The Waco Tribune-Herald has published a statement from Oakman's attorney.
"Shawn Oakman maintains his innocence in regard to the recent accusations made against him, and he insists that the sexual relationship in this case was consensual," said Oakman's attorney, Michelle Tuegel. "It is unfortunate that this situation has been lumped in with other events that are unrelated. It is important that we not rush to judgment. Every citizen accused of a crime in this country is presumed innocent unless the state proves the accused offense beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. We look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Oakman and presenting the facts involved in this situation."
Oakman is Baylor's all-time leader in sacks with 17.5, but he was not drafted in April after a disappointing senior season and his various off-field issues.
