WATCH LIVE: Donald Trump formally announces Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his running mate

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is set to announce Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his running mate for the 2016 election.

Trump was scheduled to make the announcement Friday morning, but postponed the event in the wake of suspected terror attack in Nice, France. The billionaire businessman then took to Twitter to confirm he had selected Pence to run as his vice president on Friday.

Pence is a relatively newcomer to the growing group of Trump supporters. He backed former Trump rival Ted Cruz during the Indiana Republican primary.
