Kylie Jenner's 'Lip Kits' are reselling for absolutely ridiculous prices

It's no secret that the Kardashian/Jenner clan has built nothing short of an empire.

From iPhone games to nail polishes to clothing lines -- you name it, and if "Kardashian" or "Jenner" is plastered across the packaging, people will buy it, no matter the cost (or "kost," if you will).

At the forefront of some of their latest commerce domination is 18-year-old Kylie Jenner, whose 16.8M Twitter followers and 674M Instagram followers are eager to purchase anything and everything she endorses or creates.

Perhaps that's why the launch of Kylie Cosmetics has made quite the splash across social media (the company itself has 308K Twitter followers and 5.2M Instagram followers) and the cosmetics market.

The star product of Jenner's line, the Kylie Lip Kit (which each include a matte lipstick and accompanying lip liner), has catapulted Jenner to mogul status.

Her method of selectively restocking and short-notice announcing when certain colors and products will be available for sale again has made the demand for all of the products in the line (which have now extended to glosses and metallic colors) off the charts.

And with such a loyal and massive social media following, Jenner can instantly reach millions of eager fans who are waiting to log on, add to cart and purchase.

With all of this, it comes as no surprise that customers who are willing to buy and resell Jenner's "Lip Kits" are able to list steep asking prices and mark ups – and people are paying.

Often selling the products in package deals (up to 14 at a time), some resellers are requesting over a grand for these coveted tubes of the perfect lip color.

And in some of these package deals, the price of an individual tube would be equivalent to nearly a $100 mark up from retail price (a regular Lip Kit goes for $29, with singular tubes ranging from $15-17).

We wonder what's next for Jenner and the success of Kylie Cosmetics, but we're sure so long as she blasts a pretty picture of it on Instagram, sales certainly won't be an issue.
