Tony Robbins talks about Netflix doc 'I Am Not Your Guru'

On July 15, Tony Robbins' documentary "Tony Robbins: I Am Not Your Guru" releases on Netflix. The documentary gives a behind-the-scenes look at his Date With Destiny seminar, which hosts over 2,500 attendees and is held annually in Boca Raton, Fla.

Through best-selling books, life training programs and other products, Robbins has affected more than 50 million people. Here's a look at how the entrepreneur, author and life strategist made his millions.

Academy-Award nominated filmmaker Joe Berlinger produces and directs "Tony Robbins: I Am Not Your Guru." The documentary follows participants of Robbins' Date With Destiny seminar and shows how their lives are changed by the annual event.

With a look into the production of Date With Destiny, plus moments from onstage, "I Am Not Your Guru" is a backstage pass into one of the life and business strategist's coveted seminars. For NBC's "Today," Robbins discussed the inspiration behind his documentary:

Tony Robbins Net Worth: $500 Million

Named by the Harvard Business Press as one of the "Top 200 Business Gurus," Robbins has built a lucrative career off consulting others and businesses. Fortune reported industry giants pay upwards of seven figures for his services — and even general admission to his events can cost attendees thousands.

His five-day Date With Destiny seminar costs $4,995 to attend, or $6,995 for the diamond package. Tickets for his upcoming Unleash The Power Within event run between $650 and $2,995.

Consulting over 200,000 people each year, from Bill Clinton to Oprah Winfrey, Robbins' net worth has hit $500 million, according to estimates from celebrity finance website Celebrity Net Worth. But Robbins hasn't made millions just working onstage — he's also a successful entrepreneur.

He is the chairman for a holding company comprised of over one dozen businesses that see annual sales of over $5 billion. He owns America's Best 401k, which consults businesses on their 401k services, and he founded Global Accounting Alliance, which provides outsourced CFO services.
