Elephant Comforts Friend During Her Last Days

The friendship between these two is as inspiring as it heartbreaking.

Soa Noi the elephant was rescued by Boon Lott's Elephant Sanctuary and lived to be over 60 years old.

SEE ALSO: This unusual little creature is said to be the elephant's closest living relative

She spent her life giving rides to tourists in Thailand.

Her body was very weak, and even though she was safe and no longer working, she still kept collapsing.

Boon Lott's did everything in their power to keep Soa Noi comfortable in her final days.

Soa's elephant friend, Boon Thong, was very concerned throughout Soa's passing.

The two elephants had met at the sanctuary and bonded instantly.

In an amazing display of friendship and compassion, Boon stayed by Sao Noi's side as she passed.

Sao Noi fortunately passed away surrounded by those that loved her.

You can make a donation in memory of Soa Noi here.
