While Duchess Kate usually sports a collection of bright outfits, she stepped out in a look we're usually not used to seeing from her to honor a somber occasion.

The stunning 34-year-old royal opted for a subdued Missoni number as she attended a twilight vigil at the Thiepval Memorial in France on Thursday to mark the centenary of the Battle of the Somme in 1916.

Prince William and Prince Harry also showed up for the event.

Her classic look epitomized sophistication as she paired the knee-length black and white coat with a vintage-inspired pillbox hat, black pumps and pearl earrings. You can see a piece of her black pencil skirt peeping out from under her luxurious overcoat.

Earlier this week, it was her sister, Pippa Middleton, who stole the show when she was spotted in the crowd at Wimbledon.

The younger Middleton sister glowed in a white dress covered with poppies. In one particular photo, the beautiful brunette couldn't help but show off her incredibly toned legs!

Can the Middleton sisters ever do wrong in the fashion department? We don't think so.
