"The Voice" contestant Christina Grimmie, who was murdered after her Orlando, Florida, concert on June 10, was laid to rest on Thursday in her home state of New Jersey, People reports.

The funeral was "an intimate gathering for her family and close friends," a source told People.

A separate, public memorial will take place at Medford, New Jersey's Fellowship Alliance Chapel on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. ET, with a memorial service taking place at 8 p.m.

"The Voice" Season 6 contestant Grimmie, 22, was shot and killed when a gunman opened fire at The Plaza Live in Orlando, Florida, as she signed autographs for fans after a concert.

Grimmie's brother immediately tackled the unidentified gunman, who then shot and killed himself during the struggle, police said.

The singer was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead several hours later.

The Orlando Police Department subsequently identified the gunman as Kevin James Loibl, 27, of St. Petersburg, Florida.
