Police Deputy Adopts Dog That Was Found Trapped In Septic Drain

Any day that involves falling into a septic tank sounds like it would be a bad one, but for a puppy in Florida, it all worked out rather well.

Deputies in St. Lucie County were out serving papers when they heard the dog whimpering in the distance. They followed the sound and discovered the puppy stuck neck deep in a collapsed septic drain.

The effort to free the animal was a success, as were the multiple baths the dog received afterwards.

Authorities then canvassed the neighborhood looking for the pup's owner. They weren't able to determine where the little guy had come from, so one of the deputies adopted him.

According to the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, the dog, "...is now enjoying a life in the lap of luxury."
