Arnold Schwarzenegger cast his ballot for John Kasich, not Donald Trump, in California's Republican primary, which will certainly raise speculation of whether California's former governor will endorse the presumptive GOP nominee.

"I can confirm he voted for Kasich," said Daniel Ketchell, Schwarzenegger's spokesman.

In response to a query from Los Angeles Times' Seema Mehta earlier on Monday, Ketchell confirmed on Twitter that he had cast his ballot for Kasich, whom he endorsed in the primary. Kasich, however, suspended his campaign last month.

Ketchell said that he didn't know when or if he would endorse a candidate in the presidential race. In an interview with Chuck Todd on "Meet the Press" last week, Schwarzenegger said he would "make an announcement before the election. You can be sure of that. But I will do it my way. Which is always an unusual way."

There has been some speculation that even if Schwarzenegger does not cross party lines and support Hillary Clinton, he would withhold his endorsement of Trump.

While Schwarzenegger has been a loyal Republican, and will succeed Trump on "Celebrity Apprentice," there are major areas of disagreement. One of Schwarzenegger's signature issues as governor has been climate change, but Trump has said he is not a "big believer" that global warming is man made.

Former Gov. Gray Davis, Schwarzenegger's predecessor, told Variety on Friday that he doesn't know which way Schwarzenegger will go. "He's a friend of mine. He's make up his own mind. But he is far more moderate than Trump."
