Report: 38,000 jobs created in May

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump voiced his disappointment with the US jobs report after its release Friday indicated that job gains in May missed expectations by 122,000.

"Terrible jobs report just reported," Trump tweeted minutes after the report was released Friday morning. "Only 38,000 jobs added. Bombshell!"

The billionaire real-estate mogul has been running largely on his business record, touting his immense personal wealth as proof that he will be able to improve the country's economy.

The US economy added 38,000 jobs in May, much less than expectations for 160,000, while the unemployment rate fell to 4.7% from 5%.
