Meet the twins whose viral covers will leave you in awe

Updated

Tyler and Jordan George share more than just the same last name and similar faces. The identical twins also share a lifelong passion for music. But that's not to say that they always dreamed of going pro. Although the duo grew up in a musical household, becoming full-time singer/songwriters wasn't originally on their radar.

The George Twins are quick to note that they always believed football would be at the forefront of their life. In one of their fan-favorite YouTube videos, Tyler claims that "We grew up playing sports and we thought that we would become NFL players." But after a move to Nashville, the George Twins quickly changed their minds. Shortly after, they wrote their first song together and fell in love with the creative outlet singing and songwriting gave them.

Since then, Tyler and Jordan George have been putting out incredible viral covers and infectious original tracks to their YouTube page. There, their avid fans can count on video clips every Tuesday showcasing the twins' signature harmonies and soulful spin on the today's chart-topping hits. (Ed note: If you haven't listened to their stripped-down cover of Justin Bieber's "Company" stop everything and check it out).

They also have been making it a point to get to know their fans on a more intimate level, touring and meeting their followers across the country. The George Twins recently were able to meet some of their biggest admirers during the Good Times tour stop in Nashville. Their dedication to their craft and to their fans is what sets them apart from any other online act out there.

So whether you're looking for new music to add to your summer playlists or need a new online act to obsess over, The George Twins have got you covered. On the heels of their Good Times tour appearance, we caught up with the young singer/songwriters to talk about how they discovered their love for music, their YouTube channel, and more!

When did you both discover your love for music?
We have always loved music since we were kids but it wasn't till our sophomore year of high school where we really decided to pursue it full time.

What led you to create your YouTube channel?
A guy named Alan Powell from a band called Anthem Lights saw potential in us after we got rejected by the X Factor. He decided he wanted to make an EP with us and start to build our fan base the same way he built his with Anthem Lights; with YouTube.

What goes into your videos from start to finish? How do you conceptualize your videos and decide what song to choose?
Our videos are actually very spontaneous. We choose a song we like, make it our own, and film in it our bonus room. We haven't had the resources to fully produce our videos so we make the best with what we have and try to keep it simple.
