Adorable boy has a dog with the same condition as him

Quaden Bayles was plagued by bullies who taunted his dwarfism until his family adopted a pet with the same condition — Buddy the shih tzu.

Five-year-old Quaden used to be so ashamed of his condition that he wouldn't even let his family say its name out loud.

Quaden's mother, Yarraka Bayles, told BuzzFeed that the dog lifted his confidence, and now he's not afraid to tell people that his pet has dwarfism just like him.

Even beyond the bullies, Quaden has had a tough year — he had four life-threatening surgeries and his grandfather died.

Yarraka told BuzzFeed that Buddy has brought love and joy back into their house.

Quaden and Yarraka have a campaign to raise public awareness about dwarfism called Stand Tall 4 Dwarfism, which Buddy is now a part of.
