17-Year-Old Beauty Queen Gets Arrested For Forging Doctor's Notes To Skip School

Former teen pageant queen was arrested after allegedly turning in several phony doctor's notes to excuse class absences.

The 17-year-old Madison Cox, who was crowned Miss South Carolina Teen International 2015, was arrested earlier this week on multiple charges of counterfeiting and forgery, Fox Carolina reported.

According to WSPA, she was caught for allegedly forging a doctor's signature from Parris Family Chiropractic after it was discovered that some of the notes were misspelled, or written on days the office was not open.

Since her arrest, Heavy.com reported that she has been vocal on Twitter about the media attention, but has since deleted many of her tweets. One that appears to speak to the incident reads: "It's sad that I'm the only entertainment in y'alls lives."

She has been in a multiple beauty pageants, with the most recent being Miss South Carolina Teen International in 2015.

According to her official Facebook account, she volunteered at the Spratanburg Animal Shelter and the St. Francis Hospital as a part of the community service component of her title.

Cox said she meant no harm, and will try to keep the scholarships she was awarded despite the arrest, Fox Carolina reported.
