I'll be the first person to tell you–I'm messy.

I could at times be described as the girl who would lose her head if it wasn't attached to her shoulders. You could say I'm a little scatterbrained, which obviously results in, you know, major disorganization when it comes to my apartment. Whoops!

One of the best ways I've found to combat messiness is to have a few catch-all storage baskets strategically placed throughout the house. They serve as a great home for blankets, pillows, and other loose essentials that seem to always linger around. Put them on your living room shelf to house remotes and other electronic knick-knacks, or in your bathroom to house cleaning supplies. You can even use one as your laundry basket–a major upgrade from that ugly plastic thing you've been lugging around since college!

More importantly, cute storage baskets serve as stylish catch-alls that you can throw all that randomness in if you don't have time to put it away–and your house guests will be none the wiser!

When you're speed cleaning, take the basket along with you and chuck all the clutter into it as you go. BOOM. Clutter free–it's like magic. (Just don't forget, you have to actually put it away later. It's the worst, I know.)

You can put storage baskets in your pantry, next to your sofa, next to the desk, even on the kitchen counter to collect all that loose mail. If you don't have time to clean up the mess, at least you can get it out of sight. I've rounded up some of my favorites above–and if you'd like to do more basket shopping, check out Target, One Kings Lane, Pottery Barn, World Market, and West Elm.
