Fake Funeral Home Billboard Encourages People To Text And Drive

(WPIX) -- A highway billboard in Canada is getting some serious attention because of its intended provocative message.

The sign in Toronto blatantly urges drivers to text and drive as a way to garner business for the advertiser: the Wathan Funeral Home.

It's not a real funeral home, but the message drives a strong message about texting and driving.

Cieslok Media is behind the PSA. According to Ontario Police, 2015 was the third year in which driver distraction contributed to more road deaths than any other category on roads.

Statistics like those, the fake funeral home's website says, "should make you even madder than our billboard did."

This is just the latest in these types of PSAs.

Recently, Sprint unveiled a sculpture in Miami that takes the remains of a wrecked car and made into an Emoji that says- "DN'T TXT & DRIVE."
