For many fashion bloggers hoping to make it big in the industry, they have some big shoes to fill. That's all thanks to influencers like Danielle Bernstein of We Wore What, who has helped change and elevate fashion on social media. Mixing high-fashion brands like Chanel and Chloe with affordable classics like Zara, Bernstein has found the perfect styling sweet spot between affordable and aspirational.

With over 4 years of experience in the social space under her belt, Bernstein has seen the different ways the fashion blogging industry has developed. So if there's anyone to ask for insight before diving in head first, it's her. Her biggest piece of advice for up-and-coming bloggers is a question she gets asked on the daily -- and Bernstein has one simple, but genius answer to her fan's biggest inquiry.

We recently sat down with the social fashion icon to talk about how she conceptualizes her outfits, the dynamic between her and her fans, and the one piece of advice she gives to every aspiring blogger.

Take me behind the scenes of your post. How do you conceptualize your outfits and what you will shoot?
It used to be more regular where I would shoot every Monday. I would do five outfits in the span of two hours and it would be based on the current season, what was trending, and what I was liking. It was a whole mixture of things. Now it's a little more irregular since I don't have time to shoot the professional images as much, so the blog posts are more of my Instagram or iPhone photos. My outfits now are really based on what I'm feeling that day.

You also do a lot of traveling. How do you differentiate your style from city to city?
Definitely depends where I'm going. If I'm going to Europe it's a little more chic, a lot of skinny jeans, pointed toe pumps. I'm going to Jamaica next week so I'm bringing all loose linen, oversized pieces. I really am going to focus on beach style.

How often do trends affect your day-to-day style?
I wouldn't say the affect my day-to-day style. They have some influence on things that I look to for the next season, for instance the new purchases I'll make. But I wouldn't say they fully affect my day-to-day wardrobe decisions.

What's the dynamic like between you and your fans?
I've always like to think of my blog as the perfect mix of relatable and aspirational. So a lot of my followers feel like we're best friends. I know my followers, I know what they like to see, and I talk to them when I get to meet them at events. There's a lot of trust between us and they feel like they can relate to me and look up to me. So I feel somewhat like I'm a role model to them.

What was the first moment you realized you even had fans, since you started this off doing it for your friends?
Once I started getting noticed on the streets. I was in the Dominican Republic in this casino and this Brazilian woman ran up to me. I was in another part of the world and someone recognized me which was a crazy moment. And I was in Istanbul, Turkey three years ago and these four girls who were mega-fans waited outside of my hotel for hours to say hello. I think moments like that are really surreal. Now on the streets, it happens almost everyday. Which is still so weird to me.

What's your advice to people who are trying to start out a fashion blog?
I get that question every single day. I think because the industry is so over saturated now, you have to find a way to be different. Finding a niche is so important. Find a space in the industry that doesn't exist and fill that space.
