Having a baby tends to be an exciting event for the parents regardless of their age, which is the case for a couple in India.

On April 19, a 70-year-old woman named Daljinder Kaur gave birth to her first baby, a healthy boy named Arman Singh, through in vitro fertilization, or IVF, reports AFP.

According to the American Pregnancy Association, "IVF is the process of fertilization by manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish, and then transferring the embryo to the uterus."

Kaur underwent two years of the fertility treatment with the support of her husband, age 79, with whom she has been married for the past 46 years, notes The Telegraph,

It is unclear why the couple did not have a child earlier, though blocked fallopian tubes and miscarriages have been mentioned, reports the Hindustan Times.
