5 hacks to save money at Starbucks
Starbucks can be one expensive addiction, but if you love it as much as we do, these five hacks will help you save a little bit of money along the way.
1. Bring your own cup and save $0.10.
If you bring a reusable cup from Starbucks (or elsewhere!) you'll save 10 cents on your drink. If you're someone who gets two cups a day, this would save you $73 a year.
2. Stop buying bottled water.
Get your water at Starbucks instead! Their water is fresh, filtered and free -- just ask for a water cup in a tall, grande or venti size.
3. Order a "short."
It's not on the menu, but definitely an option! A short has the same amount of caffeine as a tall, but for less money. Plus, if you love the flavor of espresso, you can enjoy your latte with less milk!
4. Get a refill.
For $0.50, Starbucks will refill your hot coffee, hot tea, iced coffee or iced tea -- but you have to still be in the store -- the baristas are much less inclined to just refill a random cup you bring in (that might set a dangerous precedent!).
5. Ask for ice on the side.
Iced beverages can be watered down by as much as 50%. If you ask for the ice on the side, you can control just how watered down your drink will be.
