Julia Roberts reveals just how she came to join Taylor Swift's squad.

In August, the 48-year-old actress joined the "Shake It Off" singer onstage during the Santa Clara, California leg of her tour. "So, your kids must think you are very cool that you are on stage with Taylor Swift," Ellen DeGeneres asked when Roberts appeared on her daytime talk show on Thursday.

"I will say this, when [Swift] very sweetly asked if I would go on stage, my oldest son said, because I of course went ugh, 'Mommy, you have to do it,'" Roberts recalled. "And my youngest son said, 'Mommy, only do it if you feel comfortable.'"

The mother-of-three says all her kids are fans of Swift's music. "They all love Taylor Swift, and she is just number one in our house," she shared. "That was their first concert ever, and we took a bunch of friends and had a great time."

Roberts is also part of George Clooney's squad but doesn't always enjoy the big dinners with her famous friend. "George is so enormously popular that I don't always enjoy going out to dinner with him," she admitted to DeGeneres. "Everybody wants to talk to George and I have a tendency, when a bunch of us go out to dinner, to go home early. I also like to go to bed early."

Roberts jokes that her Ocean's 11 co-star doesn't like when she bows out before everyone else. "He always shouts 'quitter' as I am leaving the restaurant."

When ET spoke to Roberts' Mother's Day co-star, Jennifer Aniston, she appeared a tad intimidated by the Oscar winner. "Because it's Julia Roberts! Oh my gosh!" she quipped. "I even flubbed in the first take [with her] and called her Julia!"
