The Met Gala, otherwise known as the Costume Institute Gala, is unquestionably one of fashion's biggest nights of the year -- driven by the industry's leading lady. After all, if anyone can bring all of Hollywood to New York City for a crowded, warm night at the museum, it's Anna Wintour!

This year's theme, "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology," is guaranteed to be a fun one, with celebrities and designers alike taking inspiration from the tech-driven and sometimes futuristic lives we lead. You know they'll be snapchatting as they walk the carpet and you can bet Sarah Jessica Parker will be wearing an impressive head piece. You can also count on several custom gorgeous gowns worn by the likes of Taylor Swift, Blake Lively and more.

Below, some of our favorite futuristic and tech-inspired looks from the runway over the last few years. It's a healthy combination of things we think might actually grace the red carpet and looks we think might just lend some inspiration.
