A General Mills exec told Bloomberg that, after five years of declining sales, the move is meant to keep the product "relevant." Last year, the cereal went gluten-free by making sure its oats weren't contaminated by wheat, rye, or barley, and we were blessed with Cheerios Protein in the fall.
