Katherine Heigl Admits She Should've 'Shut Up' About 'Grey's Anatomy' Emmy Debacle

It's 2008 all over again.

Katherine Heigl stopped by the Howard Stern Show this week, and at one point the conversation turned back to her 2007 movie Knocked Up. More specifically, it turned to what Heigl said about the movie: she called it "a little sexist" in an interview with Vanity Fair.

"It paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys," she said back then. "It was hard for me to love the movie."

Now, she's revisiting the topic with Stern.

"I liked the movie a lot, I just didn't like me," Heigl said, referring to the character she played in the film. "She was so judgmental and kind of uptight and controlling."

Heigl added that director Judd Apatow was very flexible on set, allowing everyone to shape their characters. She joked that she has no idea why she decided to make her own character an "asshole."

Heigl added that it was Vanity Fair's reporter — who, Heigl stressed, was "lovely" — who mentioned that "a lot of women" found the movie sexist.

"I felt obligated to answer that, and so I tried in my very, sort of, ungracious way to answer," said the actress.

Heigl admitted that she "probably should've" apologized to Apatow and her castmates, but opted to do a public apology instead. That said, she's still considering getting in touch individually.

"I absolutely owe anybody an apology who I unwittingly offended or disrespected," she said.

For what it's worth, Heigl would still be open to doing a movie with Seth Rogen — but he probably doesn't feel the same way. She saw him about six or seven years ago at a restaurant and tried to say hello, she told Stern, but Rogen was not having it.

"I was like, 'oh, you're really mad,'" she realized, before walking away.
