Astronaut captures mesmerizing image of volcano from space
British astronaut Tim Peake, onboard the International Space Station, released a photograph of a volcano in Russia on April 18.

The stunning image, posted to Twitter, shows the volcano stretching above and beyond the clouds.

Blues and whites swirl amidst it all as an elongated wisp of smoke pours out from the crater at the top of the mountain in the center-right of the frame.
Peake notes in the post, "Spotted a volcano smoking away on Russia's far east coast this morning – heat has melted snow around top."
