That makes sense as Amazon is one of the most popular places to buy eBooks. But what if you don't want to spend $290 for an Oasis, or even $80 for the entry-level Kindle?

Fortunately, you can use your existing smartphone, tablet or computer to read all the eBooks you could ever imagine -- 800,000 to be exact.

Just load up the Kindle app on your smartphone or tablet and the entire Amazon eBook marketplace is available. Or click here to get the Kindle program for your PC.

What's even better is that you can load the app on multiple gadgets. So when you switch from your tablet to your desktop, or from your Kindle to a smartphone, you never lose your place. The Kindle app even transfers annotations and highlights you've made. You can also make the text bigger, adjust background colors and you can even search for terms in your book with YouTube and Wikipedia.

It's hard to believe, but when Amazon first started out it only sold books. Today, Prime members can get a new book each month through Kindle First.

Also, Prime Members who own a Kindle, or Fire tablet or phone with the Kindle app, can access the Kindle Lending Library and borrow an eBook once a month. It's like a library, but with no due dates or heavy books to lug around.
