Rescue Crews Seek Survivors of Second Deadly Japanese Quake

The 7.3-magnitude earthquake that struck Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan has been followed by dangerous aftershocks, and now the death toll in the region resulting from the quake is up to 41, according to the Asahi Shimbun.

And while a number of photos have emerged showing the terrible damage suffered in the country's southern region, we only now have drone footage that delivers an even better picture detailing the extent of the damage.

Posted by Kyodo News, the drone footage reveals a mostly serene, sunny city setting peppered with collapsed buildings and large swaths of debris. Some of the latest reports claim that up to 860 people were injured and a large number of residents have been evacuated from the area.
