As we dive deeper into spring, take a look back at the best photos from this week's biggest news stories.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took a trip to India this week to highlight the plight of the country's endangered animals. Elsewhere in India, a passenger plane fell while being transported via crane, but miraculously no one was injured.

Stateside, we saw the tragic shooting death of former NFL star Will Smith, as well as events and rallies related to the 2016 presidential election and the final game for Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

Worldwide, we watched as a severe earthquake rattled southern Japan. We were also introduced to Ivan, a man who still insists on remaining in his home along the border of the Chernobyl nuclear exclusion zone.
